23rd April - St George's Day

From every part of the world comes the same opinion - dragons are evil, cruel beasts and fearsomely destructive. Coveting treasure, they will lie on a hoard of gold for a thousand years. Let anyone try to take so much as one coin, and the dragon will wake in fury to destroy and burn any nearby dwellings and take maidens to consume at his leisure.

But then comes St George, who defeats the evil dragon and saves the maiden. There are always more dragons to slay so please, St George, be vigilant. We salute you for your courage.
